Gangstas, it's been a while! Soooo, yours truly, DJ Hourglass, decided to put something special together for Gangstas Use Emoticons Radio, Vol. 12.  I present... Da Art of Storytelling (Part 1).  Hip Hop storytelling is an art form that few rappers have mastered, but when done right, the story can be so clever or shocking that you're stuck sitting, thinking about it.

Of course I included storytelling pros like Slick Rick, The Notorious B.I.G., Pac, Common and Nas, but there are some new names in the mix as well including J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., and Kendrick Lamar. Like a present, this jewel of a Facebook status was on my mini-feed.  These are actually lyrics to a freestyle that he came up with recently at his show at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

If he gives us more of Food & Liquor, more of The Cool and less foolish Twitter rants, I think Lupe can prove himself to be the best again.  Read below and let me know if you agree with Lupe's bold statement!

DJ Bankhead Presents: Gangstas Use Emoticons Radio, Volume 2 which includes the likes of Pusha T, Wale, Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Lupe Fiasco, CyHi The Prynce, Kendrick Lamar, Bun B, and more.  Last go round, it was a celebration, but this mix is grittier.  There are a few party songs and a nice R&B groove as well, so get ready for a good time.  This DJ has moved on to at least 1st Grade this time.
