SZA - "ICE.MOON"

Whenever I get the chance to go on about who and what I can't stop listening these days, I always mention SZA and her project See.SZA.Run.  With a voice that's airy yet full of range, a way with words that conveys her sometimes twisted thoughts in a way that it's for pure artistic release and not for shock value, the New York resident is definitely going to be someone everyone will know soon. The fact that she was bred in my second home of St. Louis, is only icing on the cake for me.

Already at work on her sophomore project S, SZA gave Gorilla Vs. Bear the green light to premiere the EP's Felix Snow & Patrick Lukens produced "ICE.MOON."

Rockwell Knuckles - Take Me To Your Leader [Free Album]

Going to college in St. Louis left me with a lot of fond memories, but my best times in the city came from my discovery of its deeply rooted music scene. In 2009 the buzz behind Rockwell Knuckles' "Government Name" was huge and I lost my s*it when he performed the single onstage with Black Spade at the Arch Riverfront as an opener for Lupe Fiasco.

Three years later, Rocky's grind is stronger than ever as he's built a cult following and linked up with some key producers and artists to present Take Me To Your Leader. Stream the project in full below, and hit the jump for the download. d(^_^)b Guaranteed stamp of approval on this one!

Bleach Stain - Hard Times

St. Louis emcee Bleach Stain hit me with "Hard Times," the lead single from The Incomporable Mind Of Mr. Stain, his followup to 2010's The Demented Mind Of Mr. Stain. I'm loving his production on this one and I'll let his own words serve as his proper G.U.E. introduction:
For the past few months I've been at an odd place with music...more emotion than I ever intended to surface made their way onto this new tape. "Hard Times" was written right after a break up I went through and the drama that followed. "Hardtimes" has always been a phrase we use to describe a catch 22 situation. "If there is nothing you can do, you have to move on." Lyrically, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Consider "Hard Times" the Memento to my Inception.  - Bleach Stain a.k.a. BeunTe

Lloyd - Do It Again ft. Nelly

It seems like King Of Hearts just came out, but it looks like Lloyd is already making moves on his next album.  He links up with Nelly for the cheerful love song "Do It Again," which gives me a lot of the same vibes as "Cupid." Only this time, I don't picture a young boy band dancing and switching positions as they alternate solos.

Black Spade - Spand [Prod. by Knxwledge]

When I lived in STL, I was fortunate enough to see Black Spade live at the Arch one summer, and I've been vibing to his music ever since.  He's been a local staple for years, but now he's finally getting the national attention he deserves without compromising his message.

Listen closely to "Spand," Black Spade's collaboration with producer Knxwledge and hit up the comments with your thought on the politically and socially charged track.

Nelly - O.E.MO [New Mixtape]

Although Nelly dropped his last album two years ago, his presence in rap has seemed to dwindle for much longer.  The Derrty Ent captain is looking to change that with his new mixtape O.E.MO, which consists of him jackin for beats over tracks like T.I.'s "Pyro," Wale's "Lotus Flower Bomb," and T-Pain's "5 O'Clock." He's also got some original tracks like "Country A$$ Ni**a" to give us a preview of what's to come with his next LP, which from the look of things, is set to drop this Spring.

Stream/Download below, and make sure you let me know what you think about the tape in the comments below! Merry Christmas!

Nelly - Wild Boys Freestyle + 5 O'Clock (Remix)

Nelly's been gone for quite some time, but he's ready to change that with his upcoming mixtape O.E.MO. This week he's been dropping videos and freestyles over popular tracks and videos for his Christmas Eve release, but I'm just gonna drop it all on you at once.

Nelly kept it simple and just rapped over MGK's "Wild Boys," but gave us his signature rap-singing over T-Pain's 5 "O'Clock." Check the two tracks out below, and let me know what you think about Nelly's return.  Hit the jump to view the mixtape trailer and his latest music video!

New Music: Nelly & T.I. & 2 Chainz - Country A$$ Ni&&a

Nelly announced his collaboration with T.I., 2 Chainz & Drumma Boy this morning, and I've been really interested to see how this track will turn out.  Although T.I. and 2 Chainz have been on a roll lately, Nelly's been pretty quiet the past few years as far as music is concerned.

After listening to "Country Azz Ni**as," I think that this is exactly what Nelly needs to jump start his rap career again.  Listen to the Drumma Boy produced track below and tell me if you agree!

Thank You YouTube for...Thug Friends

My time in the Lou may have come to an end, but thankfully I got to witness the Thug Friends movement start before I left.  Consisting of duo Twiggy Kix and Nicholas Accomp, the two just have fun and rap about things that everyone in America loves--titties, carrot cake, titty milk and chicken.  If you don't love at least 3/4 of that shit, exit my page.

Check out Thug Friends search for their beloved poultry in the video for their latest single, Chicken Lovin.

Their debut EP "We Are Not Rappers, We Are Wrappers" drops on August 31. Make sure to hit up Mademonarchs.com or Absolut-ism.com to download that.
