King Mez ft. Drey Skonie - The Allure [Prod. by J. Cole]

King Mez introduces to his upcoming album My Everlasting Zeal on "The Allure," produced by J. Cole. The Raleigh, NC bred emcee spits about his desire to make it in the game despite the many other rappers with less talent going after the same dream. Mez's May 15th release will consist of self produced tracks, as well as production from Soundtrakk (of Food & Liquor fame), Omen, Prolyfic, and more.

Actual Proof - All The Way ft. Raheem DeVaughn [Prod. by E.Jones]

Jamla emcee Actual Proof continues to rep the greatest state in the world on the Raheem DeVaughn featured "All The Way." E.Jones, who I had the pleasure of meeting at last year's A3C Festival, is behind the boards on this smooth track. The NC emcee's new album Black Boy Radio is set to drop Tuesday, March 27th.

A Peek Into 9th Wonder's Class At Duke University [VIDEO]

I hope these students realize how lucky they are because if I had the chance to be taught the history of sampling soul in Hip Hop by a one of the greats like 9th Wonder, I would never stop asking questions. Check out a recent feature from CBS News chronicling the importance of 9th Wonder's class at Duke University below, and hit up the comments and tell me if you've taken any college courses on Hip Hop!

BanksOnTheBeat - No Boundaries [New Mixtape]

BanksOnTheBeat has quickly become a G.U.E. favorite thanks to his versatility as both an emcee and a producer. He teased us with the track "For The Thrill" last week, but now his new mixtape No Boundaries is available in full at DatPiff. Check out the project below, which features BanksOnTheBeats showcasing his rhyming skills and letting producers like Swiff D, Bravestarr, and Geek Squad take the reigns with production.

Rain - The Magic Hour 3 [New Mixtape]

North Carolina's bursting at the seams with talent that deserves to be heard and Rain is one of the rappers at the forefront.  For the past few months, he's been going nonstop dropping freestyle after freestyle and video after video, and now his latest project, The Magic Hour 3, is finally here!

Rain's The Magic Hour 3 (My Separate Reality) drops later on today, but he dropped off the visuals to "Live Fast, Die Young" to let you know that he means business. Looks like MH3 is really going to be a problem when it drops at 3 PM!

Quent & J. Spells - Conscious Thoughts, Vol. 1 [New Mixtape]

Since today officially kicks off J. Cole's Dreamville Weekend in Fayetteville, I figured it's the perfect to bring some more North Carolina shine to G.U.E.!

It's been a while since an R&B singer and an emcee have come together for a full project but duo Quent and J. Spells do it with ease. Although both have the ability to make music to rock to at a party, they decided to go a different route on their new project Conscious Thoughts. Flowing over Outkast classics "Spottieottiedopaliscious" and "Black Ice" on the first two tracks, they provide the perfect introduction.  Enjoy the mixtape below, and hit the jump to check out their video to "Sky High," which was directed by my friend Keith Eason!

J. Cole - Visionz Of Home

J. Cole may have lived in New York to get his big break, but he has always put Fayetteville on his back no matter where he is. To celebrate J. Cole's success, the city has declared March 1st J. Cole Day, and this entire weekend Dreamville Weekend. And what's Dreamville Weekend without a theme song? Check out the Elite-produced "Visionz Of Home" below! NC STAND UP!

J.A.E - Second Lap [Music Video]

J.A.E makes me like him more with each track he drops because finds some stash his secret weapons and release them at the perfect moment. He gets major points from me here as he rhymes over one of my favorite Phantogram tracks, "When I'm Small" for the "Second Lap" of his Running Laps series.

Catch up with J.A.E and watch him action on the "First Lap" HERE.

BanksOnTheBeat ft. J.A.E - For The Thrill

BanksOnTheBeat turns his new single "For The Thrill" into YachTs affair as he calls up the homie J.A.E to add some more heat to his production. BanksOnTheBeat has been doing his thing with the mic and behind the boards, so his new mixtape, No Boundaries, should be a nice addition to the music collection. No Boundaries drops next week on March 5th!

C-Weav - Keys 2 The City [New Mixtape]

I first introduced you C-Weav on GUE Radio, Vol. 6 last summer, but now I'm proud share his brand new mixtape, Keys 2 The City, to all my gangstas out here. The Oakland born, NC bred rapper has been working diligently to turn his new home of Charlotte into his stomping grounds while still making his hometown of New Bern proud, and now he's ready for the entire country to get #Key and hear what he has to say.

I was one of the lucky few invited to listen to Keys 2 The City a few weeks ago, and I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that C-Weav's new project is one of the best projects of the year thus far.  Songs like "Apollo 13," "Running The South" and "Follow My Lead" affirm the hunger that C has to make it to the top while "Tonight" and "Chillin Wit Da Girls" are original yet commercially appealing tracks that are perfect for radio and club play. On other tracks, C-Weav gets personal as well,  not shying away from his past and publicly revealing the vulnerability and insecurities that he faces on an occasional basis.

Without further ado, check out C-Weav's Keys 2 The City below, which features production from the homie BanksOnTheBeat, another G.U.E. hometown hero.
