Pharrell - "Happy"

While knowing that the minions are back for Despicable Me 2 is enough of a reason to let your inner child free this summer, the fact that Pharrell will be contributing his sounds once again to the hit film series has me more excited than I probably should be.

"Happy" one of the three original songs Pharrell is contributing to the soundtrack, is a feel good record that speaks for itself. Hit play below and enjoy!

Despicable Me 2 will hit theaters on July 3rd, while the soundtrack is set to hit stores on June 18th.

[Video] Miguel Adds Wrestler To His Resume At The 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Last night's Billboard Music Awards were full of noteworthy moments, but Miguel found a way to become the most talked about musician at the ball. During a performance of his smash single (pun success!) "Adorn," Miguel took out a pair of fans while attempting to jump from one area of the stage to another.

While he's had plenty of embarrassing moments on stage, this one might take the cake. Hit the comments with your thoughts!

Solange Knowles ft. Kendrick Lamar - "Looks Good With Trouble" (Remix)

While I think that every song from Solange's True EP deserves its own spotlight, I'm glad that "Looks Good With Trouble" has been gifted with a verse by Kendrick Lamar. Stream the duo's first collab below, and be sure to purchase the single HERE if you're vibin!

[Music Video] Mariah Carey ft. Miguel - "#Beautiful"

I'm sure Mariah and Miguel had to have a few "it's just acting" talks with their loves Nick Cannon and Nazanin Mandi before shooting the touchy, feely video for their new duet "#Beautiful." Premiered on the latest episode of American Idol, watch below as biker Miguel takes Mariah on a ride through the sunset.

[New Mixtape] August Alsina - 'The Product 2'

New Orleans is the home to many talented R&B artists like Dawn Richard and Luke James, but August Alsina is the newest crooner looking to put the city on his back as he climbs to the top. With his song "I Luv This Shit" doing numbers on radio (I just shut a bachelor party DOWN with this!),  August's latest mixtape The Product 2 is set to ensure his place as one of the contenders of the new school.

Tamar Braxton - "The One"

Tamar Braxton's lead single "Love & War" is doing great on radio, but I'm glad that Epic is capitalizing on that momentum by releasing her next single "The One." More upbeat than it's predecessor, the familiar rhythm brom Mtume and Biggie is sure to make "The One" a feel good record for the summer.

[Music Video] Janelle Monae ft. Erykah Badu - "Q.U.E.E.N."

Janelle Monae took to BET's 106th & Park yesterday to premiere the video for "Q.U.E.E.N." and to be honest, no other word than "electric" comes to mind when describing it. Directed by Solange's beau Alan Ferguson, Janelle and Erykah Badu Badoula Oblongata are historic icons preserved in a museum who are brought back to life by young rebels.

Hit play and enjoy the sights, and check out Janelle after the jump as she turns up the energy at 106 to another level. The release date for Janelle's sophomore album The Electric Lady isn't out yet, but "Q.U.E.E.N." is available on iTunes now!

Beyoncé & Andre 3000 - "Back To Black" (Amy Winehouse Cover)

A snippet of Beyoncé and Andre 3000's cover of the late Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black," surfaced about a week ago, and many people took offense to Bey and 3 Stacks touching the recent classic.

Stream the entire track in full below, which premiered on East Village Radio, and make your own decision. Do the "Party" collaborators do the the talented Amy Winehouse justice?

The Great Gatsby original soundtrack is set to hit stores on May 7. The film premieres in theaters on May 10.

Jarell Perry - "Worst Enemy"

As a thank you to all of the fans and blogs who supported Jarell Perry's incredible new project Simple Things, the singer presents the marching band drum-laced freebie "Worst Enemy." Enjoy the track below, and be on the lookout for some visuals from the breakthrough artist on the way very soon!

[Music Video] Alicia Keys ft. Maxwell - "Fire We Make"

I may hate the album's title track, but Alicia Keys' Girl On Fire has some pretty nice deep cuts. One of them, Maxwell duet "Fire We Make," has emerged as a single, and the R&B crooner makes a rare appearance as he joins Alicia in the visuals.

Janelle Monae ft. Erykah Badu - "Q.U.E.E.N."

I know I don't speak for all the other people archandroids out there, but the fact that Janelle Monae is ready to present her next album/suite The Electric Lady, let alone release a collaboration with Erykah Badu, has made my year.

Stream "Q.U.E.E.N." below, and I'll keep you posted on Twitter when the single hits iTunes for download. NEW JANELLE!!

[Music Video] CharlieRED - "Could Be"

Rocki Evans and Cobaine Ivory have been unstoppable together as CharlieRED, and their Religion EP is a project that you should have in constant rotation if you don't already.

The lucky track from Religion to get the visual treatment this time around is one of the record's sexier cuts "Could Be." While the song itself is extremely moving, the video only amplifies the essence of the song which dwells upon the possibilities of a new relationship.

Drake ft. James Fauntleroy - "Girls Love Beyonce"

Drake wasn't kidding when he said this would be a very good week for his fans. After giving Khaled the okay to drop "Started From The Bottom" remix "No New Friends," he sneaks in a new track using Fauntleroy's Cocaine 80s strategy. Looks like the road to Drake's forthcoming effort Nothing Was The Same is officially in sight.

Stream the "Say My Name" sampled "Girls Love Beyonce" below, which capitalizes on a scientifically proven fact. We DO love her!

[Video] Miguel Performs "Adorn" & "How Many Drinks" Live On Saturday Night Live

Miguel's album Kaleidoscope Dream may have been "overshadowed" by Frank Ocean, but it looks like he's doing more than alright as he hit Saturday Night Live last weekend to perform his hits "Adorn" and "How Many Drinks."

Watch below as Miguel puts a punk spin on the two singles, completely transforming "How Many Drinks" into garage band realness. Hit the comments to let me know how you feel about it. o_O or d(^_^)b?

[Music Video] Frank Ocean - "Lost"

If I had my way, each song from Frank Ocean's channel Orange would have a visual counterpart. It looks as if I'm one step to having my dream come true as Frank let loose the music video for the upbeat track "Lost."

Watch below as director Francisco Soriano compiles moments from Frank's summer of 2012, and be sure to buy the Grammy Award winning album on Amazon or iTunes if you haven't already!

[New Mixtape] Cassie - #RockaByeBaby

Cassie may not have the best vocal range, but I'll tell you what she does have. A good a** team of writers and producers around her.

After being relatively quiet since her Bad Boy debut in 2006, she presents her new tape RockAByeBaby, which features guest appearances by Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih, French Montana, Fabolous, Pusha T, Ester Dean and more. What's more impressive are the multiple writing credits from Cocaine 80s frontman James Fauntleroy, Jeremih as well as the production from TDE's Sounwave and Cali saxophonist Terrace Martin. Hate if you want, but I'll give this a d(^_^)b guarantee.

Fantasia ft. Kelly Rowland & Missy Elliott - "Without Me"

Fantasia debuted a new sound with "Lose To Win," and it sounds like she's headed in a great direction for her album Side Effects Of You. After hearing the Kelly Rowland and Missy featured "Without Me," I might buy the album on April 23rd based on these two tracks alone.

Produced by Harmony, Kyle Stewart and Lambert, "Without Me" has enough versatility to get major radioplay and a little love in the club. Listen below and let me know your thoughts!

Hit the jump to check out the snippets from Side Effects Of You, set to hit stores on April 23.

Miguel ft. Kendrick Lamar - "How Many Drinks" (Remix)

Miguel's latest single "How Many Drinks" is already getting decent spins on the radio, but it's sure to get more as fellow Cali leader of the new school Kendrick Lamar joins him on the remix.

Stream the single below, and hit the comments with your thoughts!

In related news, Kendrick Lamar and Miguel are covering the latest issue in VIBE where they discuss their peers and discuss the direction that R&B is headed.

Miguel also has some interesting thoughts on Frank Ocean's announcement about his sexuality coinciding with the release of both of their albums. Might be a little bit of a rivalry brewing... Click HERE to read more.
