Thursday night, I had the pleasure of hearing Oklahoma representer Big Rec perform for the first time at the A3C Hip Hop Festival.  Two things that stood out with him amongst the other rappers in the set was his stage presence and, of course, his skills.  I don't even really have to give too much of an appeal for Big Rec. This video speaks for itself.

The 2011 A3C Hip Hop Festival started off with a bang on Thursday, October 6th due to its interesting panels, shows, and especially its freestyle competition.  Sarah West Presents: Enter The Cypher consisted of 12 up and coming rappers who were all competing to win free audio equipment, studio time, social media management, and more!

After an extremely competitive first round, only Sean G, Al P, Zaid,  J Young, Prophetic & Crucial remained.  Watch below as they compete for a spot in the finals and comment on who you think rocked it best!

The fun and excitement of the A3C Hip Hop Festival has officially come to an end for me, which means it's back to making sure I provide you gangstas with the newest in Hip Hop and R&B music.

Tonight, Abel Tesfaye, A.K.A. The Weeknd, released the brand new track, "Initiation" via Twitter.  "Initiation" has more of a hip hop influence than some of his other music but it stays true to his style, so I'm definitely going to be bumping this.  Check it out below and let me know if you're feeling it!
