Last year was definitely a controversial one when it came to XXL's selection for its Freshman Class, but it's safe to say that 2013 has some solid picks. Although I feel a few of these names deserved top billing in previous years, peep the 10 11 rappers who made the cut this year.

Kirko Bangz dropped off two separate remixes that feature two of the hottest in the game -- J. Cole and 2 Chainz. Looks like DJ Hourglass has to do a little work and put these together for ya. Which remix do you prefer? I'm definitely voting Cole on this one.

Kirko Bangz Talks Influences, Comparisons & Not Making XXL's Freshman Class [VIDEO]

I know people were outraged that a lot of rappers (ScHoolboy Q!!!!) were snubbed from XXL's 2012 Freshman Class, but I could make a pretty solid case that Kirko Bangz was worthy of a spot as well.  Watch below as Kirko explains why Eminem is his all-time favorite rapper and reveals his empathy regarding not making XXL's cut.
