Earl Sweatshirt ft. Frank Ocean - "Sunday"

Earl Sweatshirt was the sole rap feature on Frank Ocean's debut album channel ORANGE, and the favor's been returned as the singer-songwriter morphs into an emcee on "Sunday." Frank's half of the record is an added bonus to Earl's well-crafted verse as Odd Future's most skilled lyricist takes on the simplistically intricate self-produced track.

Stream "Sunday" below, and hit the jump to see Earl's television debut as he took to Late Night Jimmy Fallon to premiere "Burgundy" with The Roots. Doris hits shelves August 20th,

[Video] Janelle Monae Covers Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" With The Roots On Jimmy Fallon

There aren't many musicians in the industry right now one can trust to honorably cover a Jimi Hendrix classic, but Janelle Monae and The Roots are just the people for the job. Paying tribute to the late guitarist's legendary catalogue, Janelle takes on "Little Wing" alongside Questlove, the rest of the band, and her guitarist Kellindo who channeled the spirit of Hendrix and completely SHOWED OUT.

The Roots & Elle Varner Pay Tribute To Whitney Houston [VIDEO]

After hearing the news of Whitney Houston's passing, The Roots rushed to transform their party into a proper tribute concert, but a lot of their expected cameos were no shows.  Fortunately, Elle Varner showed and gave a passionate performance of Whitney's hit "Saving All My Love" to pay tribute to the lost legend.

Jay-Z Makes History At Carnegie Hall With Nas, Alicia Keys & The Roots [VIDEO]

Gabriela Herman
Last night, Jay-Z became the second Hip Hop act to perform at New York's Carnegie Hall, backed by The Roots, Bilal and a 30 member orchestra. Wyclef Jean, who was the first, took the stage with Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and Whitney Houston in 2001. Among Hov's guests for his first of two benefit concerts were Nas and Alicia Keys, who performed hometown anthems "NY State of Mind" and "Empire State of Mind" with Jay.

Watch below as former rivals Nas and Jay-Z perform the Illmatic classic, "NY State Of Mind," and hit the jump to watch Mr. Carter's debut performance of "Glory," his song dedicated to his newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter!

Flo Rida Peforms "Good Feeling" With The Roots On Jimmy Fallon [VIDEO]

In all my 22 years of living, I never would've thought that a collaboration between Flo Rida and The Roots would ever happen. Thanks to the great mood among the country about the Super Bowl, Flo Rida's hit "Good Feeling" was probably the most appropriate celebration song for Jimmy Fallon's post-championship late night show.

Watch below as the dance track rapper performs with the legendary Roots crew, and hit the comments with your thoughts on the unlikely collab!

The Roots - Red's Aunt (From The Redford Stephens Documentary)

The Roots has changing the game with their concept album undun, which tells the story of fictional character Redford Stephens.  Along with the album, there have been a series of visuals that turn the album into a soundtrack of sorts.  There is also a free un(dun) iPhone app that serves as a comparison piece to the album.  Check out one of the app's feaures below, an account of Redford Stephens's life through the eyes of his aunt, and make sure you go get the album if you haven't already!

Common Performs "Celebrate" Live With James Fauntleroy The Roots [VIDEO]

This is the Common I love to see. While I find his Drake beef highly entertaining and hilarious, I just like to see the Chi Town having fun and focusing on his music. Watch below as he links up with Cocaine 80s partner James Fauntleroy (my absolute favorite) and The Roots crew for a performance to The Dreamer/The Believer single "Celebrate!"  Nothing like a live band...

The Roots - undun [Short Film]

Yesterday during his interview with The Breakfast Club, Questlove stated that The Roots' latest album undun is like a soundtrack without an accompanying film.  In unorthodox fashion, director has put together a 9 minute mini movie much like the short music videos that were released for the album.  Watch below as the story of Redford Stephens unfolds!
