Ab-Soul - Tales Of The Black Lip Bastard [VIDEO]

The Electric Circus series continues as Miss L and Shabazz interviewed the Black Lip Bastard Ab-Soul and got the TDE rapper to explain how he got the nickname (not what you think!). He also admits that he was the inspiration behind Kendrick's "HiiiPower" record and explains his approach to making music.

Ab-Soul - Showin' Love

It's Ab-Soul's turn now! The Black Lip Bastard is the most underrated member of the TDE crew, and he's proving just how dope he really is on his new single "Showin' Love." Let's hope we get that album soon.

ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul hit up Sway In The Morning on Shade 45 and became the latest to conquer DJ Wonder's 5 Fingers Of Death Freestyle challenge. Now 3/4 of TDE have spazzed on it, it's safe to say that they're the reigning champs.

New Music: Schoolboy Q - Druggy's Wit Hoes Again ft. Ab Soul

Schoolboy Q revealed last week on Twitter that his upcoming project will be called Habits n Consequences, a prequel to his debut Setbacks.  I am a huge fan of his first project, and I think that Schoolboy Q is the most underrated member of Black Hippy.  Listen to "Druggys Wit Hoes Again ," to get a taste of HnC, which Ab Soul claims is better than Kendrick Lamar's classic Section.80.  If that's the case, drop that $h*t now!!!

Next Up: Complex's 15 New Rappers to Watch Out For

I'm pretty much addicted to Complex's lists.  I learn about new artists, I get more info about my favorite artists, and I don't feel like throwing my MacBook out the window like I do when I read XXL's list of Freshmen.

Today, they released their list of 15 New Rappers to Watch Out For.  Overall, I think the list is great. There are some names I'm not too familiar with like Action Bronson, ASAP Rocky, V-Nasty and Hopsin (doing research now), but there are some rappers that I'm really feeling like Casey Veggies, Ab Soul, Bad Boy's newest artist Machine Gun Kelly (praying for you), and MMG's Stalley.

Freestylin: Black Hippy

Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab Soul & Schoolboy Q) graced the Toca Tuesdays and left some heat on the mic.  Shouts to 2dopeboyz.

Jay Rock's Follow Me Home is in stores and on iTunes TODAY.

Next Up: Kendrick Lamar

I'm hoping you've already heard of Kendrick Lamar and his music.  If not, prepare to be amazed. Hailing from Compton, CA, he's mastered his craft by incorporating his first and second hand experiences of the streets. I've been bumping all three of his albums since J. Cole mentioned him on UStream in the fall and after one listen, I wished I'd heard of him before.

Signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, Lamar is also 1/4 of Black Hippy along with Jay Rock, Ab Soul, and Schoolboy Q who are all going to do some serious damage to the game.

Buy Kendrick's #Section.80 on iTunes today. Jay Rock's Follow Me Home will be available on July 26th.

The video above shows Kendrick rapping his #Section.80 song "Hol' Up" to Jay-Z "What We Talkin' Bout." Shouts to Hip Hop Music Now for the video.  Hit the jump for some more music and downloads.
