Ab-Soul links up with his extended TDE family Jhené Aiko and Detroit XXL Freshman Danny Brown on "Terrorist Threats." Whenever Ab speaks you've gotta listen, and the rule rings especially true on this one.

Jhené Aiko - 3:16am [Video Teaser]

When Jhené Aiko turned 24 yesterday, she switched it up and gave us a present. "3:16am" is the latest single from Souled Out, her followup to last year's amazing Sailing Soul(s), and it goes to the dark places that were hidden on tracks like "In Love We Trust." Check out the Topshelf Junior directed visuals to the Fisticuffs production below, and get ready for Souled Out!!!!!!

Common Says Beef With Drake Is Over [VIDEO]

Touré hit the Grammy red carpet to interview celebrities for the Fuse TV network, and he couldn't help but ask about Common's beef with Drake when he ran into The Dreamer/The Believer.  Watch below as Common considers the feud "over," and hit up the comments with your thoughts. I'm not so sure Drake feels the same way.

Ryshon Jones - Letter To Jhene Aiko

Ooooh. HOPE's not gonna like this....

Jhené Aiko's music seems to inspire everyone who hears it. For me, it's because she writes about things anyone can relate to and she crafts her vocal arrangement to perfectly convey her message. Ryshon seems to have a especially deeper connection with her music because she "reminds [him] of a girl [he] lost. Check out his "Letter To Jhene Aiko" below, and hit up the comments with your thoughts on the track!

Jhené Aiko Signs With Def Jam!!

Score 1 for the underground!! Jhené Aiko, one of my personal favorite artists out, has Sailed her Soul(s) to Def Jam for a deal with the No I.D., the head of the Cocaine 80s family. I'll have more info as it comes, but make sure you give her a shoutout on Twitter for the business move.

And for the diehard fans worried that she'll change, just listen to her music! Plus she's joining an incredible team of singer songwriters signed to Def Jam like The-Dream, James Fauntleroy & Frank Ocean so I feel like the sky's the limit for the Cali beauty.

New Music: Jhené Aiko - In Love We Trust ft. Casey Veggies

As a Jhené Aiko stan, I'm going to try to contain my excitement for this new record.  If you follow her on Twitter or if you listen to her music, you can see that she's really trying to make the world a better place, one Sailing Soul at a time.

"In Love We Trust" is no different, as she and fellow Cali native Casey Veggies tell the story of a woman who's lost her faith in love and a man doing what he can to make ends meet. Jhené = Tupac reincarnated as a beautiful singer.

Gangstas Use Emoticons Radio, Vol. 13: R&B Leaders of the New School

I can't believe there are 13 of these now!
Hip Hop has changed dramatically over the years--almost everything is digital now and rappers can make music to anything because creativity seems endless. I welcome these changes with open arms and although there are a lot of sh*tty artists clogging the Internet, there are also incredible talents that can reach a large audience easier than ever before.

What few seem to notice is that the same movement is happening with R&B.  There are tons of amazing singers and songwriters that are participating in the progressive evolution of this genre that seems to be expanding just as quickly as rap.  I'd like to consider the standouts in R&B our "Leaders of the New School," although many who are just starting to gain major attention have been around in the industry for quite some time.

Check out a Gangstas Use Emoticons Radio, Vol. 13, a showcase of these R&B Leaders of the New School, which includes music from Miguel, Jhené Aiko, Teedra Moses, Frank Ocean, BJ The Chicago Kid, The Weeknd, and more!

Stop The Madness: A Word From Marvin Gaye

Gangsta Translation:
-___-

The late and great Marvin Gaye is a legend whose career left the world with timeless music for us to make babies and/or protest injustice.  I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that I wish he were still around to have continued to bless us with his talent.

That being said...

Stop Sleeping: Jhené Aiko's Sailing Soul(s)

For everyone that appreciates real music and real talent, you HAVE to download Jhené Aiko's Sailing Soul(s). Most of you may recognize her from B2K's glory days as Lil' Fizz's fake cousin, but take a look at her now--she's so much more than that. I think of her as Tupac reincarnated into a beautiful singer. Take a listen and tell me what's not to love about  Jhené Aiko.

Here's her track "Hoe f/ Miguel". Download the mixtape at www.jheneaiko.com.
